Lot #329A Durtnall ‘Skyscraper’ bat c.1795. Early one-piece cricket bat with plain convex face and ridged back, bound handle, measuring 35” long and weighing 2lbs 8 oz. The unspliced bat was made for a right handed batsman. The top of the handle impressed with ‘H Durtnall’, and ‘H Durtnall Peckham Kent’ to toe. Sold with the late vendor’s research notes giving further information on the bat. Some worm holes, otherwise in good condition.
